Research

Without research and innovation our built environment would stagnate. The special skill of the architect to integrate conflicting aspects of a specification for a building or urban quarter greatly assists in ensuring a high quality built environment. Research is also essential to the maintenance of a high quality of education for the profession and for these reasons the Work Group of the ACE monitors developments in this respect.

The European Union establishes and runs framework programmes for research and development and this Work Group has highlighted those areas of the current framework programme that have particular relevance to the architectural profession.
