Project description

The aim of this project, commissioned in 2017 by the Salon of Architecture (Experiment and Research category), was to rebuild and convert an abandoned barn into a workshop space. The starting point and main challenge was the idea that a completely new and unexpected space could be achieved from elements available on site, while keeping the image of the original place. For this project, construction materials from the surroundings, such as straw bales and timber, were    used to build the house. The occasional guests, until they are told that a fully functional and comfortable workshop space is located behind the straw bales, think that, in front of their eyes, lies a normal barn that has been there forever.
