Join us for the 19th edition of the European Week Regions and Cities! Together for recovery. 11-14 October 2021

28.05.2021

In the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities, the Architects’ Council of Europe will organise an online workshop on the New European Bauhaus in collaboration with ICLEI,  a global network of more than 2500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development.

The New European Bauhaus reflects an ambition that is shared by many citizens and local authorities: Making our built and living spaces more sustainable, inclusive and beautiful. In recent years, many institutional documents at international and European levels have set objectives and define principles to achieve this ambition. The workshop will bring together architects, experts from the creative sectors and mayors of cities to discuss how local public authorities can translate this shared vision and ambitions into concrete initiatives and projects.

Key areas of the New European Bauhaus will be explored:
1) the complex interactions among sustainability, aesthetics and inclusiveness (= Baukultur);
2) the relationships between the world of science and technology and the world of art and culture.

We hope that this workshop will contribute to raise cities’ awareness about challenges inherent to the New European Bauhaus initiative, and contribute to highlighting some good practices.

The timetables and the workshop programme will be communicated in due course
